1. Restorative Yoga + Yoga Nidra Workshop Feb 25
Restorative yoga involves using props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps to support our bodies in the poses so that we may fully let go. This practice is designed to help people who are struggling with illness, injury, overwork and overwhelm. This practice will boost your immune system, relax your nervous system, lower stress, and improve sleep.
After we are all in a deeply relaxed state you will be guided through a yoga nidra. Yoga Nidra or “yogic sleep” is a form of deep relaxation that takes the mind into a state hovering between being awake and being asleep. It has been shown to relieve tension and anxiety, as well as alleviate insomnia. All bodies welcome! This is a body positive class and offered in an accessible space with an elevator.

What is Private Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is the application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals achieve health and wellness at all levels: physical, psychological and spiritual. Yoga therapists are a part of your alternative health care team. You do not need to meet any requirement of fitness, age or health to start a yoga therapy program. We will tailor the tools that yoga offers to your specific needs, capabilities, goals and life circumstances. These tools include postures, breath regulation, meditative practices, visualizations, use of sound, and lifestyle changes.
What does a typical Yoga Therapy Session look like?
Before we have our first session, I will gather information either through a phone conversation or through a questionnaire to determine your specific needs and goals. Most sessions will begin by checking in with how you are feeling and how your yoga therapy practice has been going. The session will progress with breath work (prananyama), postures (asana), hand gestures (mudra), and relaxation and meditation techniques. From this you will be given a home practice, which will build as the sessions continue.
Can I do Private Yoga Therapy Sessions Remotely?
Yes! I can come to you in your home or office using a video conferencing service and the yoga therapy session will proceed as described above. With remote Private Yoga Therapy Sessions you will still get the benefits of a yoga practice targeted for your needs and goals accessible from wherever you are.
